Mango Shrub Mocktail

A poolside and summer favorite! This Mango Shrub is tasty, nuanced, and hydrating.

Equipment

  • 1 mason jar and lid

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup diced mangos fresh or frozen
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar raw/unfiltered

Instructions
 

  • In a mason jar, combine all of the ingredients.
  • With the back of a wooden spoon, stir the ingredients together and mash the mango up a little bit.
  • Shake the jar, screw the lid on tightly.
  • Refrigerate for 15 hours, then strain the mixture through a fine, mesh sieve.
  • Add 2 tablespoon of the mixture to a glass with ice and top with ¾ cup sparkling water. Garnish with a lime wedge, if desired.

Notes

SUBSTITUTIONS
You can substitute the granulated sugar for honey with success, just be sure to mix it well.  
MAKE IT SWEETER
If you prefer your drinks VERY SWEET, you can swap the sparkling water for sprite.  
MAKE IT FUNCTIONAL
To make it functional, you can swap the sparkling water for an equal amount of iced chamomile or passion tea.
